Upgraded Perpetual Bonus FAQ

To improve user experience and capital flexibility, BYDFi has optimized its bonus mechanism. Here are some frequently asked questions and answers regarding the upgraded perpetual contract bonus system:


1️⃣ Why does my available balance appear normal, but the order fails with the message "Bonus cannot be used alone"?

This means your account only contains bonus funds and no actual cash balance. The system does not allow opening positions using bonus alone. Please deposit additional funds and try again.


2️⃣ Why can't I open a new high-leverage position, even though I already hold one? The system says "Leverage has exceeded the maximum limit."

There are two possible reasons:

  1. When you first opened the position, your cash + bonus total equity was above the platform threshold. Later, due to funding fees or trading fees, your equity dropped below the limit, triggering the restriction.
  2. You didn’t have bonus at the time of opening the position, but later received bonus funds, which caused your total equity to fall below the limit, triggering the restriction.

3️⃣ Why does the bonus used during closing exceed the original deduction ratio?

If your cash balance is insufficient, the system will automatically use bonus funds to cover the shortfall, which may cause the bonus usage to exceed the expected ratio.


4️⃣ The bonus is not supposed to cover liquidation fees — why was it still used during liquidation?

  • In cross margin mode, bonus is considered part of the margin calculation and may be used during forced liquidation.
  • In isolated margin mode, if your cash balance is insufficient, the bonus will be used as a fallback to cover losses.


5️⃣ When am I unable to transfer funds out of my account?

If your account holds bonus funds and there are active positions or pending orders, the bonus is considered "in use" and asset transfers will be restricted. Please close your positions or cancel your orders before transferring funds.


6️⃣ Why was my bonus cleared after I successfully transferred out funds?

According to platform rules, if you transfer funds while holding bonus, the system will automatically clear your bonus. A pop-up confirmation will appear before the transfer — please review it carefully.


7️⃣ Why were my pending orders canceled when my bonus expired?

If the bonus expires while still in use, the system will first cancel pending orders to reclaim the bonus. If canceling orders is not enough, the system will force close positions at market price to complete the recovery.


8️⃣ Why can't I use my bonus wallet?

All new bonus funds are now issued to the default wallet. The bonus wallet no longer supports transfer in or trading, but any remaining cash can still be transferred out.
