How to Export Google Authenticator to a New Device
When switching phones, it's essential to transfer your Google Authenticator to ensure uninterrupted access to your BYDFi account. Follow the steps below to safely export and set up your Google Authenticator on a new device.
Step 1: On Your Old Device
Open the Google Authenticator app. Tap the the icon in the upper-left corner
Select āTransfer accountā then āExport accounts.ā
Choose the BYDFi account you want to transfer
Tap Next A QR code will appear
After you scan your QR code, youāll get confirmation that your Authenticator codes have been transferred
Step 2: On Your New Device
Download and install Google Authenticator from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Open the app and tap āTransfer accountsā ā āImport accountsā
Scan the QR code shown on your old device. The account will now be added to your new device
Step 3: Confirm Successful Setup
After transferring your account, verify that the authenticator code works on the new device:
- Log into your BYDFi account using the new deviceās code.
- If the code doesnāt work, your deviceās time may be out of sync.
