Bitcoin was invented by an anonymous person or group of people using the name Satoshi Nakamoto. It was introduced as an open-source software project in 2009, and the first block of the Bitcoin blockchain, known as the Genesis Block, was mined on January 3, 2009. Since then, Bitcoin has experienced significant price fluctuations, reaching its all-time high of nearly $65,000 in April 2021.
