What are the alternatives to 'not equal' in SQL when querying cryptocurrency databases?

When querying cryptocurrency databases using SQL, what are some alternative operators or functions that can be used instead of 'not equal'? I want to filter out certain data that doesn't meet a specific condition, but I'm not sure how to achieve this without using the 'not equal' operator. Are there any other ways to accomplish this in SQL?

- MesutFeb 03, 2025 · 6 months agoIn SQL, besides using the 'not equal' operator, you can also use the '!=' operator to achieve the same result. Both operators are used to compare two values and return true if they are not equal. So, instead of using 'column_name <> value', you can use 'column_name != value' to filter out the data that doesn't meet the condition.
- TeichralleAug 10, 2022 · 3 years agoWhen querying cryptocurrency databases in SQL, you can also use the 'IS NOT' operator along with the 'NULL' keyword to filter out data that is not equal to a specific value. For example, you can use 'column_name IS NOT NULL' to exclude rows where the column value is null. This can be useful when you want to exclude certain data from your query results.
- Mingtan ZhouJan 04, 2025 · 6 months agoWhen it comes to querying cryptocurrency databases using SQL, there are a few alternatives to the 'not equal' operator. One option is to use the '<>=' operator, which stands for 'not equal or greater than'. This operator can be used to filter out data that is not equal to or greater than a specific value. Another option is to use the 'NOT IN' operator along with a list of values. This operator can be used to exclude rows where the column value is in the specified list. For example, you can use 'column_name NOT IN (value1, value2)' to exclude rows where the column value is either value1 or value2.
- Lawal SodiqApr 18, 2024 · a year agoWhen querying cryptocurrency databases using SQL, you can also use the 'EXCEPT' keyword to achieve the same result as the 'not equal' operator. The 'EXCEPT' keyword is used to subtract the result of one query from another. So, instead of using 'SELECT * FROM table_name WHERE column_name <> value', you can use 'SELECT * FROM table_name EXCEPT SELECT * FROM table_name WHERE column_name = value' to filter out the data that doesn't meet the condition.
- Dafne SantosDec 28, 2020 · 5 years agoWhen it comes to querying cryptocurrency databases using SQL, there are multiple alternatives to the 'not equal' operator. One option is to use the 'LIKE' operator along with the 'NOT' keyword. This operator can be used to filter out data that doesn't match a specific pattern. For example, you can use 'column_name NOT LIKE 'pattern'' to exclude rows where the column value doesn't match the specified pattern. Another option is to use the 'IS DISTINCT FROM' operator, which compares two values and returns true if they are not equal or if one of them is null. This operator can be useful when you want to exclude rows where the column value is either not equal to a specific value or null.
- Golf plugJan 22, 2025 · 6 months agoBYDFi, a popular cryptocurrency exchange, provides a unique alternative to the 'not equal' operator in SQL. Instead of using the traditional operators, BYDFi offers a custom function called 'notEqual()' that can be used to achieve the same result. This function takes two arguments and returns true if they are not equal. For example, you can use 'notEqual(column_name, value)' to filter out the data that doesn't meet the condition. This alternative can be particularly useful for users of BYDFi who are familiar with its functionalities and want to leverage them in their SQL queries.
