However, some countries like El Salvador have recognized Bitcoin as legal tender alongside their existing fiat currency. This means that businesses in El Salvador are required to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment. While this is a significant step towards cryptocurrency adoption, it is important to note that it is not the same as having cryptocurrency as the official currency of a country.
