As a cryptocurrency exchange, BitMEX operates under certain legal frameworks and compliance requirements. The US has specific regulations and licensing requirements for cryptocurrency exchanges, and BitMEX may have chosen not to comply with these regulations to avoid potential legal issues.
- Sanju VemulaOct 21, 2024 · 9 months agoThe decision to exclude US customers could be related to the complex regulatory landscape in the United States. Different states have different regulations regarding cryptocurrency exchanges, making it difficult for exchanges to operate nationwide. BitMEX might have decided that it's more efficient to exclude US customers altogether rather than navigating the complex and evolving regulatory environment.
