  Well, estimating the total count of cryptocurrencies is not an easy task. With new cryptocurrencies being created almost every day, it's hard to keep track of the exact number. However, according to CoinMarketCap, as of now, there are over 10,000 cryptocurrencies listed on their platform. Keep in mind that this number includes both active and inactive cryptocurrencies. So, the actual number of active and widely used cryptocurrencies might be lower.
